Animal lovers exist in every place, including Monroe, Washington. The Reptile Zoo is located on State Route 2 near 27th Avenue SE. The Reptile Zoo enables visitors to learn more about a wide variety of reptiles, including snakes, turtles, and alligators. Wiggly Field Dog Park
Wiggly Field Dog Park is an off-leash dog park located at the south end of the Skykomish River Park on Sky River Parkway. Since it’s open from April to November, it’s the perfect place to bring your dog to play throughout the spring and summer. Just make sure to wear rain boots during wet weather, as the park can get muddy. There are plenty of shaded spots and benches for you to enjoy as your dog plays. The park even has a small agility course available for you to socialize and practice classic agility games with your dog.
Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest
If you want to watch animals in their natural habitat, visit Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, located just east of Seattle. You can ski during the winter and hike the rest of the year. The mountains and forest provide visitors with access to diverse biomes that are home to different animals, including black bears, chipmunks, and native birds. You can rent a pair of binoculars from one of the park’s offices to clearly see wildlife from a safe distance. You’ll likely see different wildlife out depending on the time of year.
Woodland Park Zoo
Though technically just outside of Monroe in nearby Seattle, Washington, the Woodland Park Zoo is a well-known zoo featuring thousands of animals in their large collection. The zoo is divided into different sections, including Australasia, Northern Trail, Tropical Asia, African Savanna, Temperate Forest, and Tropical Rain Forest — each featuring animals and plants native to that zone. The zoo’s diverse collection of animals consists of zoo regulars, such as giraffes, along with rarer species such as the Arctic fox, red pandas, and Matschie’s Tree kangaroos.
