Jeep to Introduce Jeep Plug-In Hybrid

The Jeep brand is coming with the Jeep Plug-In Hybrid, so get ready. Plug-in hybrid models are expected to include… Jeep Compass Trailhawk AWD and Jeep Renegade Crossovers.

A Jeep spokesperson announced that eight plug-in hybrids are expected to hit the U.S. market by 2022.

What’s a Plug-in Hybrid?

If we were playing word association with the term plug-in hybrid, the word we’d link it with would be versatility.

That’s because when you drive a plug-in hybrid, the fuel powering it can be battery-powered electricity or gas—it can even be both.

Gas-Fueled Vehicles and EVs

Traditional gas-fueled vehicles and even EVs, on the other hand, do not display this type of versatility. In fact, since they’re limited to using a single fuel source, they look one-dimensional by contrast.

Benefits of Driving a Plug-In Hybrid

Rising gas prices???

No problem.

With a PIH, you’re able to utilize a pure electric range to avoid the pain of paying (too much) at the pump.

PIH vehicles also enable you to Go Green.

In a study,* scientists found that plug-in hybrids drive just as much in electrical mode as their pure electric counterparts. This leads them to conclude that the potential for plug-in hybrid vehicles to reduce CO2 was just as large as the potential for electric vehicles to do so.

Convenience, Convenience, Convenience

As of December 2018, there were just about 60,000 electrical vehicle charging outlets throughout the U.S.*

This easy accessibility, combined with the proliferation of gas stations means that, whether it’s electric or gas, your plug-in hybrid is never far from a fuel source.
