Ram 1500 Performance

Gas or Diesel Powered

The Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 with eTorque is standard with 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft of torque rated for up to 25 MPG highway. The eTorque system adds another 90 lb.-ft of torque to the V6. For more pulling power, check out the available 5.7-liter HEMI V8, which generates 395 horsepower with 410 lb.-ft of torque, with another 130 lb.-ft of torque from the eTorque system.  For Ram owners seeking a mix for fuel-efficiency and power, there’s the 260 horsepower 3.0L EcoDiesel V6, with an impressive 480 lb.-ft. of torque and is rated for 33 MPG highway. 

All Ram 1500 engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission in two- or four-wheel drive. 

Best-in-Class Towing 

A 5.7L HEMI-equipped Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds with a maximum payload of 2,300 pounds. Tow what you need, where you need, when you need it. Features like available Trailer Reverse Steering Control, available Power-Fold Tow mirrors and available five-camera 360-degree Surround View Camera take the guesswork of maneuvering a trailer that much easier. And available Trailer Camera Wiring allows for up to two auxiliary cameras to be set up and monitored via a direct feed into your truck’s Uconnect touchscreen. 

On the Level

To offset the load, the Ram 1500 can be equipped with Active-Level Four Corner Air Suspension to add to the class-exclusive real coil setup. It is a self-leveling system that lowers automatically at highway speeds to reduce airflow underneath the truck. It can also be lowered for easier access to the truck when parked. However, the air suspension system could be raised when an obstacle needs to be cleared underneath the truck.

The Ram 1500 sports a signature tall nose, large grille, and lower-set fenders. Each grille is distinctive to its specific trim level, with the Ram name out front announcing its arrival into work or anywhere it goes. 

The 1500 comes in two cab configurations – Quad Cab four-door and Crew Cab four-door with room for up to six adults inside. Depending on the cab, there is a choice of bed sizes, starting with five-foot-seven inches to six-feet-four inches long, with helpful features like lighted pickup boxes, bed steps and available power running boards. 

Unexpected Cargo and Storage Solutions 

Features like an available multifunction tailgate, with 60/40 swing-away doors make loading the bed a snap, even with a trailer attached. The available Ram Bins In-Floor Storage System provides additional storage in typically underutilized space. An available bed step makes bed access that much easier; the RamBox® Cargo Management offers weatherproof, lockable, illuminated storage on either side of the bed.
