Four Dodge Vehicles With the Best Mileage
Although Dodge has long been synonymous with powerful muscle cars, the need for American vehicles to improve fuel economy in response to foreign automakers has pushed gas mileage. Today, not only do Dodge vehicles still offer the power they’re known for, they offer excellent fuel efficiency. Here a few of the top mileage Dodge vehicles out on the market.
2016 Dodge Dart
Leading the pack in fuel economy for Dodge is the 2016 Dart. With its 1.4-liter, four-cylinder Multi-Air Turbo Engine, the Dart gets a commendable 28 miles per gallon city and 41 miles per gallon on the highway, making it one of the leaders in the compact class. This enables you to get up to 541 miles on a single tank of gas.
An available upgrade to the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Tigershark engine provides added power and gets 36 miles per gallon highway and 25 miles per gallon city. The top-of-the-line 2.4-liter, four-cylinder Tigershark Multi-Air 2 gives 184 horsepower while still pushing up to 35 miles per gallon on the highway and 23 in the city.
2016 Dodge Challenger
The revamp of the 1960s muscle car still has the legendary speed, but now it also has added fuel efficiency. The 2016 model still goes zero to 60 in an impressive 6.2 seconds without sacrificing gas mileage. For sports cars, the Charger is one of the leaders in the industry with an impressive 30 miles per gallon highway and 19 miles per gallon city behind a 3.6 liter, Pentastar V-6 engine. Even with larger V-8 engine options, the Challenger still gets admirable gas mileage. The most powerful engine, a supercharged 6.2-liter SRT Hellcat V-8 still boasts 22 miles per gallon highway and 13 in the city.
2016 Dodge Charger
The Charger uses the same four engines available on the Challenger and provides the same type of gas mileage. With the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, the Charger gets an impressive 31 miles per gallon highway and up to 19 miles per gallon city. The middle two engines, like the Challenger, are both Hemi V-8s that get up to 25 miles per gallon. However, if you’re opting for power in the Charger go with the 6.2-liter Hellcat which provides a mind-blowing 707 horsepower.
2016 Dodge Journey
Dodge’s only entry into the crossover market is the Dodge Journey, which provides space, practicality, and excellent gas mileage. With a 173 horsepower, 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, the Journey gets up to 26 miles per gallon highway and 19 miles per gallon city. However, a massive power upgrade to the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 gives you over 100 more horsepower, while only dropping the fuel economy to 25 miles per gallon highway and 17 miles per gallon city.
The most important aspect when it comes to choosing your Dodge is finding one that provides excellent styling and great fuel economy. However, consider yourself lucky, because this describes all of their available models. When it comes to finding a fuel-efficient Dodge, you don’t even have to compromise.
