Concept Car Collection Introduced at Easter Jeep Safari 2023

It was back in 1967 that the annual Easter Jeep Safari was first introduced. Back then, it was just a one-day event for enthusiasts to gather in Moab, Utah, and hit the trails behind the wheels of their Jeep vehicles. Through the decades it has evolved into the incredible event that it is today, filled with day-long trail rides over the course of a week-plus. This year’s event took place the first nine days of April. While we love everything about the event, our favorite part has got to be the collection of concept cars that Jeep always brings to introduce at the event. They pull out all of the stops year after year, and this year was no different as they brought seven incredible vehicles to showcase in the desert. Check out below for the cliff notes on each of these phenomenal vehicles.

Jeep Scrambler 392 Concept

This concept pays homage to the original vehicle of the same name, the brand’s first compact convertible truck that was introduced back in 1981. This version is powered by a 6.4 HEMI V8 capable of generating 470 horsepower and pound-feet of torque.

Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Sideburn Concept

This concept version of the brand’s pickup truck, Jeep Gladiator, was designed to explore several new off-road tools, such as a 2” JPP lift kit with BILSTEIN performance shock absorbers and a quartet of HRE 17-by-9” FT1 six-spoke wheels.

Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0 Concept

For the past three years, this one included, Jeep has brought a Magneto concept to the Safari to really see what electrification is capable of in the Jeep Wrangler. One of this one’s most unique features is the ability for the driver to select between two different power settings, one generating 285 horsepower while the other boosts to a whopping 650 hp.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Concept

Speaking of electrification, the event wouldn’t have been complete without some 4xe models. The Wrangler Rubicon 4xe concept is just one of these models, outfitted with a host of unique design cues and even more off-road capabilities – for example, an adjustable AccuAir suspension kit.

Taking things a step further, the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Departure concept adds a ton of outstanding off-road features and design cues to really showcase what’s possible from this iconic vehicle.

1978 Jeep Cherokee 4xe Concept

One of our favorite parts of each year’s slew of concept cars is when the brand makes a concept car by starting with a classic vehicle. This year’s entry started off by restoring a 1978 Jeep Cherokee and then making it a 4xe model, combining the ultra modern powertrain with the vintage look and feel.

Grand Wagoneer Overland Concept

Finally, the brand had to bring a concept from its new luxury subdivision, so it brought the Grand Wagoneer Overland Concept. Like many of the other concepts, this vehicle was designed to bring even more off-road capabilities to the plate, starting with its powertrain – a 3.0L Hurricane Twin Turbo engine capable of generating up to 510 horsepower alongside 500 pound-feet of torque.
