What is the Rebelle Rally and how do I sign up?
Women are starting to ramp up their presence in the automotive industry and we’re here for it. From powerful female executives in top brands throughout the world to more women race car drivers entering the fray to more female presence in STEM fields and on and on. Today we wanted to highlight one specific major step forward for women in automotive: the Rebelle Rally. This annual event was the very first women’s off-road navigation rally raid in the United States, and we cannot wait for this year’s event. We thought we’d give you the rundown on what exactly the event is and then fill you in on whether or not you’re able to sign up to drive your own Jeep vehicle in the event.

What does the event entail?
The Rebelle Rally is an incredible event that will test all kinds of skills for the women who choose to participate. The event takes place over a whopping eight days of competition where you aren’t necessarily trying to go the fastest. Instead, the event will challenge you in different ways through things like headings, hidden checkpoints, time and distance. While this might seem easy to do in 2023, the catch is that you won’t have access to GPS or your cell phone. At all. Instead, you’ll have to use maps, a compass and a roadbook to navigate the eight-day competition.
When and where is the 2023 Rebelle Rally?
This year’s event will take place from October 12th to the 21st. The Rebelle Rally will kick off in North Lake Tahoe and finish up in Imperial Sand Dunes, California. Throughout the competition, competitors will be self-camping in designated locations or staying at one of the mobile base camps which offer all manner of modern amenities, such as bathrooms, showers, dining, first aid, mechanics and more.
How do I sign up?
Before you consider signing up, there are a few things you need to know. The Rebelle Rally is for original equipment vehicles with minimal modifications, not racecars or super modified aftermarket vehicles. You’ll need to have either a 4×4 vehicle or an X-CROSS vehicle. The 4×4 competition is for four-wheel drive vehicles with a two-speed transfer case like the Jeep Wrangler or RAM 1500 4×4, whereas the X-CROSS competition is for either two- or all-wheel drive vehicles that don’t have a two-speed transfer case, like the Subaru Forester or Nissan Rogue.
If you have a vehicle like this, then you’ll need to find a friend to bring with you as the competition is for two-women teams. Once you’ve got your partner, you can register for the event right here. Feel free to give us a call with any questions, and good luck if you decide to join!
