What’s New For 2024 With The Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Jeep Grand Cherokee was first introduced to the world at the 1992 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. For 2024 the Jeep Grand Cherokee is here and sporting some fantastic updates. 

What’s New?

Three distinct flavors of Grand Cherokee are available for 2024, including the Jeep Grand Cherokee, three-row Grand Cherokee L, and the Plug-in Hybrid 4xe, which delivers up to 25 miles of pure electric driving and still is able to tow up to 6,000 lbs. It’s doubtful you will find a more capable off-road vehicle that happens to be a Hybrid. 

The new year will see the Grand Cherokee Limited and L Limited get a choice of polished or painted 18” aluminum wheels, and 4xe Trailhawk models get all-new 18” black painted aluminum wheels. 20 and 21-inch wheels are still optional on Grand Cherokee L models. 

The Anniversary Edition, previously the 30th Anniversary Edition, stays on for an extra year in the 4xe trim. This special edition receives Capri leatherette seats, front ventilated seats, a wireless charging pad, nine-speaker Alpine sound system, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5 NAV, special blacked-out exterior appearance, 20-inch black wheels, special badging, and body-color rear fascia, lower moldings, sill claddings, and wheel flares. 

Performance & Towing

When it comes to performance and towing, the 2024 Grand Cherokee is in a league of its own. Both the regular and long wheelbase models come standard with a Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 producing 293 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (290 and 257 lb-ft in the long wheelbase), and the ability to tow up to 6,200 pounds. The venerable 5.7-liter V-8 is optional for the Grand Cherokee L, rated at 357 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque with best-in-class towing capacity of up to 7,200 pounds. The 2024 4xe has a 2.0-liter Inline-4 that outputs 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. 

Every model in the Grand Cherokee lineup has 10.9 inches of ground clearance, with 24 inches of water fording.
